At Eager, we may believe that less is more, but that doesn’t mean we believe you have to settle for basic. Our classic juices are big on flavour (and our packaging is big on colour) – and we like to think that they look great on the shelf (but not the fridge. Not all the time, anyway).
When it comes to upgrading the rest of your kitchen, colourful glassware is definitely having a moment right now. This spring, it’s all about those bright shades, and we’re here for it.
We’re all about easy wins at Eager, and adding some colour into your glassware is a simple way to impress your guests when they come round for drinks, or when enjoying your juice at breakfast. And since it’s the time of year to give your home a refresh, it’s a great way to brighten up your kitchen, too.
Cheers!
Glassware with a splash… of colour
There's more colourful glassware around than ever, so if you’re not sure where to start, here are some things to consider when choosing your favourite shades.
Stay on-trend – Colours go in and out, so you’ll want to stay on trend. Seventies-style amber glassware is back – or you could try this season’s favourite colours for an achievable spring colour palette.
Go two-tone – Two colours might just be better than one, and multi-hued glassware is set for a big season this spring. Or if you want to mix it up completely and embrace the kitsch, then go for a mismatched rainbow set. Something like this set would be perfect.
Brand new vs retro – There’s nothing cooler than vintage. And since we’re taking some inspiration from the past anyway – colourful glassware has been around for decades – why not try the real thing? For some serious old-school style, a vintage reseller like Kernow is a great option.
Waste not, want not – For extra originality, and eco-friendliness, go for some recycled glassware. There are companies dedicated to just that, and these come in all shapes and sizes, so there’s bound to be something for everyone.
Once you’ve got your colours all co-ordinated, then it’s time to put your new glasses to use with a cocktail to go in them…
Sake grapefruit cocktail
This delicious drink, made with Eager juice, is pretty in pink and great for hosting drinks at yours. For the most Instagrammable results, match it with some rose-tinted glasses of your own, like this stylish wine glass.
In a shaker, add the sake, gin, juice, ginger, a tiny dash of ground nutmeg powder, and a few ice cubes. Pre-load your specially chosen glasses with some more ice. Shake for 30-40 seconds, then pour the cocktail through a strainer filter into the glasses. Add a splash of grapefruit sparkling water, before garnishing with the rosemary sprigs and grapefruit slices. Serve, admire, and enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 85ml SoGood Sake
- 85ml Eager pink grapefruit juice
- 70ml gin
- ⅛ tbsp grated fresh ginger root
- Small pinch of ground nutmeg (optional)
- Splash of sparkling water, chilled
- Ice
- 2 springs fresh rosemary, to garnish
- 2 slices fresh grapefruit, to garnish
Don’t forget the table…
… But why have a table, when you can have a whole tablescape? It’s the perfect way to show off your interior design skills, level up your dinner parties, or just to have a bit of fun when it comes to laying the table.
So now you’ve got your glassware sorted, it’s time to finish the job and create the perfect colour co-ordinated tablescape.
Tablecloths – This is the foundation of your tablescape (literally), so it’s an important one to get right. Since we’re going for vintage vibes with the glassware, a patterned tablecloth would fit the bill.
Plates and bowls – We’re going bright with the glassware, so why stop there? And like your glasses, you can go monochrome if you want for a more understated look, or mix and match with a multicoloured set.
Candlesticks – Imagine going to all the effort of a curated, colour-coordinated tablescape, only to waste it with bad lighting. Say no to the big light and get some candles instead. Some tall candlesticks in pastel shades would be ideal.
Whether it’s pink grapefruit, golden pineapple or orange… orange, coloured glasses make the perfect accessory for any of our classic juice flavours.
However you’re drinking your favourite flavour, show us how you’re adding colour to your glassware this spring and share your newly brightened kitchens and tablescapes with us on Instagram.
