The mantra of ‘less is more’ is important to us here at Eager and is an approach that we bring to all aspects of our business and brand. Whether that’s the flavours in our range or the information on our packaging, we don’t like to overcomplicate things.
So how do we instil ‘less is more’ in our fruit juice, from production to your glass? Let’s explain.
All-star flavours
From our “it is what it is” orange juice to our “deliciously standard” pomegranate juice, our drinks are exactly what they say on the carton. No pulp fiction or juice jargon. Just classic flavours that everyone loves.
We don’t faff around with funky flavours or add anything unnecessary (nasty or nice) to our juices. From the crunchiest apples to the juiciest pineapples – nature has done all the hard work, so instead of tampering, we’re happy to keep things simple.
Health, yeah!
When it comes to juice, less really is more. A bold statement for a company that only sells juice, we know. But if we can’t sell it responsibly, we’d rather not sell it at all.
Juice is made from fruit. Fruit contains sugar. Therefore, juice contains sugar. Natural or not, too much sugar can have a negative impact on our health. Simple as that.
Juice should be considered a treat and enjoyed as one. Much to the disappointment of Big Juice, we would never make sweeping claims about our juices being “one of your five a day” because that implies they should be drunk daily for a health benefit.
We prefer to think of our range as a delicious treat – everyday juices for every other day.
Long live the juice
Less is definitely more when it comes to energy use. We’re the champions of less refrigeration. Fewer fridges mean less global warming, so we package our juice to reduce the refrigeration needed in the juice supply chain.
At Eager, one simple difference has a huge impact – our cartons are fully airtight, which removes all the unnecessary refrigeration from our supply chain and cuts our carbon emissions by roughly 25%. All without having to change the way we make our juice, or compromise its great taste or quality.
We have a lot to say on this, but in the spirit of simplicity, you can read more about it here instead - Free the juice! Why we’re asking the UK juice industry to step up.
Pack it up, pack-a-ging
Our packaging is 100% recyclable. It also looks great, and that’s something we’re really proud of. So while you could recycle it, you just might actually reuse it.
In a market overwhelmed by exaggerated claims, we wanted to keep our packaging simple and honest. No bells or whistles, just bold colours, nice fonts and a few choice words to explain what it is, how to store it, and how to enjoy it.
More truths, less tricks
We’re not perfect, and we don’t have all the answers. But rather than use big sweeping health statements and green-washing eco creds to sell juice, we’re happier keeping things straightforward and honest. It’s just juice after all.
