Honest brands we love this Valentine’s

Honest brands we love this Valentine’s

It’s that time of year again, but however you feel about it, Valentine’s Day is the time to show some love.

Of course, we know our juice tastes great. And we’re always honest about its impact on the planet and on your health. So instead of banging our own drum (again), we wanted to spread the love and shine a light on some of the brands we’ve been lucky enough to partner with, that share our honest values.

And, if we’re being really honest, we know that Valentine’s isn’t for everyone. So here’s how you can use our awesome partner brands to have the perfect low-key Valentine’s day/night in.

Breakfast in bed

It’s a classic for a reason. What better way to show your appreciation for your partner than by bringing them a delicious breakfast in bed? We think so.

Porridge from The Great British Porridge Co doesn’t just taste great while being quick and simple to prepare. It uses 100% natural ingredients, sourced and made locally, with no added sugar. So you can give your conscience, as well as your partner, a rest.

Or if you’re in the mood for something lighter, then Nush could be the one for you. They’re on a mission to create the tastiest, most ethical dairy alternatives in the UK. And we think their almond-based spreads, milk and yoghurt alternatives do the trick.

And of course, it goes without saying that juice is an essential component of any great breakfast. For these ones, try our classic cranberry or pomegranate – not only do they taste great, but they also keep it on-point when it comes to your Valentine’s Day colour scheme.

Movie night in

Breakfast in bed is one thing. What would Valentine’s Day be without a classic rom-com? Just you, your SO, and Hugh Grant. But remember, getting your snacks right is just as essential as your choice of film.

Look no further than Well & Truly’s gluten-free range of snacks, which are made with all-natural ingredients, sustainably sourced and fairly traded. Think popcorn, but classy. The Netflix-and-Snack pack sounds perfect for Valentine’s.

For something a bit sweeter, try Bantu Chocolate. They’re a young, award-winning company trying to create a new, more equitable vision of the chocolate industry, from bean to bar. Oh, and their chocolate tastes amazing as well.

And if things get messy 😉, there’s always Homethings: actually eco-friendly cleaning products that don’t use single-use plastics or harsh chemicals. Less glamorous, maybe – but definitely an essential.

And to drink…

Whatever you’ve decided to make, the perfect drinks pairing for you is sure to be out there. For cocktails, Brighton Gin are your friends. They make the first 100% vegan-certified craft gin, with each bottle filled by hand and delivered by bike when possible. And if you’re looking beyond the world of gin, try East London Liquor Co – which does exactly what it sounds like. We told you we liked honesty.

Two distilleries dedicated to channelling their local spirit. You can’t go wrong. And since we love seeing how our juices can work in cocktails, here’s a special one you can try for Valentine’s Day:

Ingredients (serves two, of course):

  • 150ml Eager cranberry juice
  • 50ml vodka
  • 1 tbsp grenadine
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge
  • Chilled prosecco
  • 4 raspberries

All you need to do is mix the cranberry juice, grenadine and vodka together in a jug or cocktail shaker, with a handful of ice. Squeeze over the lime wedge and stir or shake briefly, then strain the cocktail into two champagne glasses. Drop two raspberries into each glass, then top up with prosecco or sparkling wine to serve.

But there’s no reason to miss out if you’re not drinking. Mavrik make pre-mixed, alcohol-free cocktails with natural flavours only. And if you’re not quite feeling the spirit-and-mixer vibe, Clean Break Brewing make vegan, locally brewed beer and are on a mission to normalise going alcohol-free and inspire people to make positive progress in their lives.

Do Valentine’s your way – honestly

At Eager, we’re big on honesty, which is why we love finding other brands that are, too. And we love partnering up with them even more.
