STORAGE & ORGANISATION

The Joy of Pantry: level up your kitchen storage this spring with these pantry ideas

pantry ideas eager

The days are getting longer, the temperature is creeping up, and there’s a certain something in the air… that’s right, it’s spring cleaning season! Maybe you love it, maybe you hate it – but it’s definitely the time to rethink how your storage and organisation is working.

We love a bit of clever storage at Eager, whether it’s for your fridge or for your kitchen. So we thought we’d share some more of our smart storage tips with you, to help you make the most of your space and cut down on kitchen chaos.

This time, we’re focusing on the pantry. Don’t let the word ‘pantry’ fool you – any small space in your kitchen counts. A modern pantry is just a dedicated, and perfectly organised, storage area – so you don’t have to have your stuff spread all around the kitchen.

Read on to find out how you can indulge in the Joy of Pantry.

How to organise the perfect pantry

One idea is to make your space bigger than it looks. Or bigger than you thought it was. Like the Tardis, but in your kitchen.

First, make sure you’ve grouped your items together and sorted them by size, type and how often you use them – you’ll want to have a range of different containers for different kinds of item, so it’s important to take a quick stock check first.

Back of the door – get some storage racks that can hang over the back of a door to create extra space for spices or sauces. Or you could use a door to put up a whiteboard, for extra-visible shopping lists or recipes. Here’s some door storage inspo to show you what we mean.

Up your shelf game – pull-out shelving is another great option to extend your space. Just remember not to put stuff too far back – you don’t want to forget about things and let them go to waste. And for regular shelving, shelf inserts, like these simple but effective ones, can create even more extra room. A shelf within a shelf!

Storage with style – get some containers that mix form and functionality. Just because they’re useful, doesn’t mean they can’t be stylish at the same time. Mix and match between crates, baskets, shelves, boxes, and jars. The more variety, the better – plus, no-one likes a kitchen that’s too perfect. And while you’re at it, labels are great for being really on top of your organisation.

It’s OK to be lazy – one more tip: you can use a lazy Susan in your pantry. You might think these are just for serving food, but actually, they’re great for unlocking corner spaces and making it easier to access your items. Put one (or more, we’re not going to stop you) in your pantry and see for yourself. Thank us later.

The fridge myth

store eager juice anywhere

There’s something else we need to talk about. As we said, you need to know what you’re putting in your pantry to optimise your organisation. Some things are obvious: tinned food, pasta, grains, eggs, ketchup (...although maybe that one's not so obvious). But there’s something you might be missing out: juice.

That’s right. Juice doesn’t need to live in the fridge at all. That’s just what Big Juice wants you to think! Actually, thanks to our airtight packaging, you can keep your Eager juice wherever you like – you just need to pop it in the fridge shortly before serving.

Which means you can keep your juice in the pantry. After all, that’s what a pantry is for – those items you stock up on, because you know you’ll use them regularly, and use lots of them.

Juice is definitely one of these: not only is it delicious, but we know how quickly it can end up getting drunk once you’ve bought it and popped it in the fridge. So keep it in the pantry instead to take back control of your juice supply.

Simplify your storage

So, now you’re well equipped to create the perfect pantry space in your home, whether that’s a separate walk-in room or a tiny cupboard.

And now you know you can keep our store-anywhere juice in the pantry, to free up your fridge for what really needs to live there.

Get an Eager juice delivery today so you can get all the juice you need – and keep your newly refreshed pantry stocked up with all the essentials.
