DRINK RECIPE • PINK GRAPEFRUIT JUICE

Sharpening up: our favourite grapefruit juice cocktails

grapefruit juice cocktails eager

The pink grapefruit isn’t just for breakfast, honest. This tangy but sweet, and in our opinion, often underrated fruit juice, is great in cocktails too.

Great on its own (obviously), but even better when blended with other ingredients - our pink grapefruit juice can deliver on a whole host of cocktail flavours, from zingy to sweet.

So, here are some of our favourite grapefruit cocktail recipes - including a non-alcoholic alternative to a classic drink, a fresh twist on a current favourite, and a simple but satisfying future staple. All easy to make and delicious to enjoy.

Paloma mocktail

The Paloma is a well-loved classic - and for good reason. But if you’re not drinking or you want something for the kids to enjoy, then there’s no reason to miss out on the fun with this alcohol-free version

Fill a cocktail shaker or large lidded jar with ice cubes. Add the grapefruit juice, lime juice and honey. Cover, then shake until the shaker feels cold.

Put the sugar on a small plate and run the lime halves over the rims of 2 tumblers. Turn the rims of the tumblers in the sugar to coat.

Put a few ice cubes in each tumbler and strain the grapefruit mixture between them. Top up with soda water and garnish with a twist of grapefruit zest.

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Eager pink grapefruit juice
  • The juice of ½ lime
  • ½ tbsp clear honey
  • ½ tbsp caster sugar
  • 120ml soda water
  • Ice
  • Twist of grapefruit zest, to garnish

Grapefruit spritz

Sure - you’ve probably tried an Aperol spritz (and if you haven’t, where have you been?). But you probably haven’t tried it like this. Trust us: you’ve been missing out.

Pour the grapefruit juice and Aperol into a chilled coupe glass. Add ice and gently stir to combine. Top up with the Prosecco, garnish with a twist of grapefruit zest and serve immediately.

Ingredients:

Gin and grapefruit juice

We’re keeping it simple with this one: after all, we’re strong believers that less is more. But details are important, and thanks to a couple of extra touches this cocktail is anything but basic. A thyme and grapefruit garnish and a pink salt rim make this a drink to remember.

Sprinkle the Himalayan salt and lime zest onto a small plate. Rub one grapefruit wedge around the rim of the glass and dip the glass into the salt and lime zest until the edge is lightly coated.

Shake all other ingredients in a cocktail shaker and strain into a glass without disturbing the rim. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and a sprig of fresh thyme, and sip away!

Ingredients:

  • 40ml gin
  • The juice of ½ lime
  • 80ml Eager pink grapefruit juice
  • Ice
  • Pink Himalayan salt, for salt rim
  • Lime zest, for salt rim
  • Grapefruit wedge, to garnish
  • Sprig of fresh thyme, to garnish

Thanks to the all-pink-everything salt rim and grapefruit juice, this one is definitely a photogenic drink.
